About

Bella Donna, Bella for short, is my rescue puppy that I was given a few days before Christmas.  She has been a wonderful addition to my otherwise uncertain life.  And because I love her so dearly, she is kept on a holistic diet and is fed many raw foods.  I want her around for a very long time.  Full of energy and life, she has and still is showing me the ups, downs, and the whole adventure of dog owning.

Bella Donna - Italian for beautiful woman.  Also a poison.  I felt it would be fitting in all occasions.

Her birthday is estimated to be around October 1, 2010.  My birthday is October 15, so we will celebrate around the same time.

According to the vet, she looks to be lab/ chow/ golden retriever mix. UPDATE: She might be a Rhodesian Ridgeback / Chow mix instead.

Her favorite toys are water bottles and raw hides.  UPDATE: She is no longer allowed to have raw hides, but I give her raw bones and veggies.  She also really loves the Kong toys.

She understands "sit", "down", "inside" and sometimes "come".  We are working on these and more.  UPDATE:  She also knows "no", "upstairs", "rope", "bone", "ball", "out", and "go to sleep".

Bath time is one of her least favorite activities but she loves to run wildly afterwards, getting everything wet.  We are working on this, also.  UPDATE:  She now seems to love bath time, although she looks pathetic until I get her in the bathroom.  But she even tries to jump in the tub when I am taking a shower, so I am guessing she doesn't dread it so much anymore.

She smells like cinnamon.  This is due to a natural flea and tick spray I use.  It is wonderful.
